Missed Photo Opportunities this past weekend :(

Well, I just discovered that there was a Scifi Summer con being held this past weekend in Atlanta that is scifi/anime related. Here's a link to the con site. Sigh... a missed photo opportunity for me as they had a costume contest so more than likely ppl dressed up for the event /cry. I was planning to go to the Blairsville Scottish Festival and Highland Games to take pics on Sunday but that plan fell through too, lols.

Gundam 1:1 mecha scale model

It doesn't get more badass than this huge Gundam 1:1 mecha scale model created in Tokyo, Japan celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Gundam franchise. You can see how huge it is in the pic by the size of the person on the upper right side of the picture. Read more here on the story.

Live Movie Poster

I stumbled onto this on another blog and the idea of a live poster is really cool. Instead of having a still image of a movie poster you have a live video of the person in the poster who pops out with a great reaction.

A good early example that I remember of a live poster is from the movie Stepbrothers:

Cinco De Mayo Carnival Time-lapse video

I found this cool video I'd like to share. Andrew Curtis did this amazing time-lapse movie of a carnival at nighttime:

Car Show 5.23.2009

I added photos of a car show I went to on 5.23.2009 here

I found this car show on accident while waiting for a friend at a local college on the same day of the roswell photoshoot.

I'm not that interested in cars but at the time it was a perfect opportunity to take some quick pics.

Roswell Mill Cosplay Photoshoot 5.23.2009

After procrastinating for a week I finally have posted the small number of photos I took at the Roswell Mill photoshoot on 5.23.2009.

The day we were there was scorching hot. Me and my friend Sai (click link for his pictures of the shoot) took 2 bottles of water each and boy, that wasn't enough to keep us cool for the duration of the time we were there, from 2:30 to 5:40pm. I was super excited the night before and only got 4 hours of sleep unfortunately so I was dragging ass by the end of the afternoon.

At first when we got there we had no clue where everyone was meeting up so me and my friend headed into the trails to see if people were meeting somewhere in the woods. We did find 2-3 cosplayers but after 20 mins we retreated back to the bridge entrance. My friend was annoyed about walking in the trails looking for cosplayers and our conversation went something like this:

Fortunately, these small events do give us all a chance to meet new people. I met Black Goblin when he showed me and a small number of cosplayers a really sweet shooting location hidden up a steep road on a patio. I also met Stef and her bf who I remembered taking a photo of at AWA 2006 when they cosplayed Jasmine and Aladdin. I'm looking forward to the photoshoots JessPanda has setup for July and August before another taste of AWA. Thanks to Jess and the Peach State Cosplay Society for coordinating this event.
